Creating a World Radiotherapy Awareness Day (WRAD) Sessions
In this event we are bringing supporters for a World Radiotherapy Awareness Day (WRAD) together from all parts of the world (radiation oncology professionals of all types, patients and carers, society and industry representatives) to finalise the details for creating a WRAD to be officially launched in 2025. This dedicated day (extended over a week) will amplify advocacy efforts around the world in raising awareness of life-saving and life-improving radiotherapy (radiation therapy).
We value everyone's input to this session at which attendees will vote on the final date, the inaugural theme and our new logo. We will share ideas for maximising impact from WRAD. Please join us in making history together!
This event will be offered twice to accommodate different time zones. Session 1 (9:00 - 10:00 GMT) will be available both in person and virtually and is suitable for time zones within Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia. Session 2 (18:00 - 19:00 GMT) will only be available virtually and is suitable for time zones within the Americas and Pacific Islands. Please register for the session that works best for you.

Spotlight on Radiotherapy: Essential elements for sustainable and quality radiotherapy services
The radiotherapy focused session will be an engaging discussion with the global community to examine the essential standards for radiotherapy service development and sustainability. The session will feature a diverse lineup of speakers who will address critical questions and share their expertise on sustaining funding for radiotherapy facilities, each RT Essential Standard in detail, and strategies for integrating radiotherapy into policy. Following the presentations, a panel discussion will provide further insights and encourage collaborative dialogue.
