GCR celebrates official ribbon cutting for registration in Geneva, joining UICC offices

GENEVA, SWITZERLAND – 16 September 2024


“We’re official!” Birgit Fleurent, GCR Board Deputy Chair, proudly declared, as she cut the ribbon to the new GCR office in Geneva Switzerland.


The Global Coalition for Radiotherapy (GCR) marked the opening of their new office at the UICC offices, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on 16 September 2024.

The GCR continues to look forward to advancing their mission of equitable, quality and safe access to radiotherapy for every cancer patient in need.  This milestone offers an exciting opportunity for GCR to take their goals to a new level, alongside strategic partners, and prepare to more efficiently and effectively help progress their work.

This event comes on the heels of GCR receiving official approval from the Geneva Registry of Commerce, officially recognizing them as an NGO.


During the ceremony, Birgit Fleurent expressed her gratitude for those in attendance:


“I want to thank Cary, who I’ve known for a long time, for everything you’ve supported here, and Darien, who is our Executive Director and has brought so much to the GCR and helped us grow, and reach where we are today. So thank you.”- Birgit Fleurent

GCR recognizes the other co-founders who were unable to join, including Shandi Barney and Therese Lindé who are strategic advisors and industry representatives, also GCR Chair of the Board, Professor Pat Price. The GCR is thankful for their vital roles and their continued influence and commitment to the coalition.
