GENEVA, SWITZERLAND – 16 September 2024

The Global Coalition for Radiotherapy (GCR) has officially partnered with Health Value Alliance (HVA), signing a memorandum of understanding at the new GCR office in Geneva. This collaboration will be a significant step to ensure patients achieve the best cancer care, no matter where they live. CEO of HVA, Matt Hickey attended the formal signing, along with Birgit Fleurent, Deputy Chair of the GCR Board, and Darien Laird, Executive Director of the GCR.

The GCR is eager to work alongside HVA on collaborative projects to implement evidence-based models in the cancer care continuum, advocacy for cancer care investments, and building partnerships to establish informed value-based investment models.

Laird said:

“One of our favorite phrases is we 'build better together' and that is exactly what we aim to do with this new partnership."

Hickey expressed his enthusiasm for this collaboration:

“The Health Value Alliance is delighted to be collaborating with the GCR in our mutual quest of helping to ensure individuals across the world have equitable access to patient-centric, evidence based and sustainably affordable cancer care. Radiotherapy is a vital component in many personalized cancer care regimes and we are excited to be working together to continue to evidence and promote the benefits of radiotherapy and supporting initiatives that enable more individuals to get access to radiotherapy as part of their personalized cancer care.”
